Resy App Reviews

It just works perfectly.

Use it!

Limited selection

Edit: I am using this correctly and I am not impressed. In addition to having a very limited selection of restaurants, it does not work as advertised and youll still see reservations that are either really early or really late.

Brilliant

The app is simple and easy to use, does what it says, Notify feature to receive available tables on my favourite restaurants is just awesome Good job!

Epic for restaurant discovery

Just moved to NYC, found a ton of great places and was able to book reservations that same night

Mr.

My go-to source for securing the best tables in town at the times I actually want them. Best thing to hit my phone next to Uber. Convenience and great dining at the touch of a button. Freakin love this this thing.

Easy to use, great for date night

I went to Toro with my girlfriend last week and it was by far the best experience weve had there yet. We were seated immediately upon arrival at one of the best tables in the house. Highly recommend this app!!

Amazing restaurants in NYC! Cant wait to go to LA!

Its simple, quick and easy to use. Ha. Never thought Id pay for a table, but way worth the time you save. No Im not getting paid to write this review.

Because I needed to eat right now

I didnt have reservations because of lack of preparation and prior knowledge of dinner plans that night. But when my fiancé called and said she needed to take her coworkers to dinner somewhere slightly more swanky than the norm I knew where to go. I booked a reservation at Charlie Bird 26 minutes before they arrived and was the hero of the night. It cost me next to nothing and the treatment the girls received once they arrived was second to none.

Disappointment

This service does not live up to its promise to offer the best restaurants and hard to get tables/times. In Los Angeles, it only offers a few restaurants and none of them are top rated restaurants. I never found reservation times between 5:30 and 8:30 available, so the sought after times are not available even when I was willing to pay for the service. There is no advantage to using this application over other restaurant reservation services. Don’t waste your time with this one.

Not ready for prime time in Los Angeles

Alas, by and large the selection of restaurants is mediocre, as if working backward from whos got unfilled tables rather than forward from whats truly excellent. Would have wanted to love this app; but ended up deleting it when I saw how slim the pickings were.

Fantastic For Prime Dining

Just scored a table at the hottest restaurant in NYC because of Resy. They need more restaurant options, and once they do, its game over.

Terrible!!!!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR PHONE SPACE ON THIS GARBAGE APP!

Great app to get into the best restaurants

Not only is the Resy concept an awesome one (who doesnt want to be able to book an 8pm table at Minetta Tavern, Upland or Charlie Bird?), but the app is so easy and intuitive to use. Great selection of restaurants and really helpful if you plan your evenings last-minute.

Amazing - super convenient and excellent curation

Love the app experience overall. Got a last second reservation I otherwise could have never gotten. Plus, the general curation of restaurants is top notch. Never bother with yelp, etc again. And the pro tips for ordering were spot on.

Opentable offered more time slots

Tried a restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. Opentable had more time slot options and it doesnt require using a credit card

Crap

Only an elderly tourist would think these are hot restaurants. This would be worth it if they actually added some hard to book places. Crap.

For when youre in a pinch

Great app, easy to use. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Great for last minute reservations at places that are impossible to get into. Hopefully more restaurant choices will be added soon.

The best reservation app

Had my first night off from the kids in 3 years and my husband and I wanted to go somewhere special. Opentable had nothing but bad restaurants. But on Resy I had so many options and got an 8pm at Charlie Bird. Everyone needs this app!!

Works well, but comes with a cost!

I would like to state that the app works very well, and support staff is just wonderful. Unfortunately, Resy charges a minimum of $10 per person for reservations, and the funds are not refunded if you cancel. The funds are held in reserve if you make a future reservation with the same restaurant. In one instance, we would have had to pay $350 per person up front! We used this app while in Aspen (and did so at the recommendation of Food & Wine) and found that not only did we NOT need to use Resy, we could have used Open Table FOR FREE at all of the same restaurants. I cant see a reason to pay Resy for a reservation you can make for free elsewhere. This review is based solely on my experience in Aspen. Resy may be more useful in NYC, but dont assume so-check first with Open Table or call the restaurant directly!

I am not impressed

Even for free reservations Resy asks for your credit card to "protect the restaurant from fraud". No other reservation service does this so I dont beleive them. I think Resy wants your credit card in case you accidentally make a reservation that does cost something. Reservations can not be changed online and are difficult to change on the app. To add more people I had to cancel my reservation and rebook it. Reservations do not link to your calendar. I will never use Resy again.
